A Healing is Coming by Shawanda Corbett
Shawanda Corbett is a ceramic and performance artist whose bodily and architectural ceramics communicate different perspectives across cultures, eras, and geographies and interrogate the idea of a ‘complete body’.
For her British Pavilion work, A Healing is Coming, Shawanda has created a series of ceramic vessels that reflect rituals related to healing.
Shawanda’s objects are defined by curvatures formed through the clay’s encounters with the artist’s body, and are glazed with vibrant and metallic hues.
Dancing Before the Moon runs from 20 May to 26 November 2023.
