Richard Long's Installation

1,000 red breccia stones were chosen at a stone-merchant's yard near Verona and transported by pontoon and crane to the Pavilion where the artist created the sculpture.

Commissioners outside the British Pavilion

The Commissioner for the British Pavilion in 1976 was Gerald Forty (Director of Fine Arts Department, British Council). The Assistant Commissioner was Muriel Wilson.
