The British Pavilion exhibition Five Young British Artists included three large sculptures by Anthony Caro (who won the David E..  Bright Foundation Prize for a sculpturor under 45) and paintings by Bernard Cohen, Harold Cohen, Robyn Denny and Richard Smith (who won the Mr and Mrs Robert C. Scull Prize for a non-American artist under 35).

Norman Reid was on the International Jury.
