Britain did not exhibit officially

Britain did not exhibit officially. An exhibition of the works selected for the Biennale but withdrawn at a late stage was held by the British Council at Hertford House, London (the Wallace Collection) in May-June that year. The artists selected were Frank Dobson, A.J. Munnings, the late Glyn Philpot, Edward Wadsworth, Frances Hodgkins and Duncan Grant; a group of wood engravings was also shown.

The Selection Committee consisted of Sir Lionel Faudel-Phillips (Chairman), Clive Bell, Campbell Dogson, Lawrence Haward, Sir Eric Maclagan, Herbert Read, the Earl of Sandwich, and Alfred Longden (Secretary).
