This year, for the first time, there were commissioners for the English room created in the Central Pavilion - the artists Walter Crane and Alfred East and the sculptor George Frampton - who were invited by the Biennale authorities to make the selection of works.
Commissioners: Walter Crane, Alfred East and George Frampton. Frank Brangwyn designed the room and painted four panels for it; he was awarded a Gold Medal. East was president of the Biennale Jury.
