Gold Medal designed
The Gold Medal of 1903 was designed by Katie Joyce Harris of London. Harris entered the international competition to design the medal, which was to bear an allegorical representation of Venice, recalling her artistic glories. She made two maquettes; a modified version of the one illustrated here was used for the actual medal.
